Best Golf Swing Tips for Weekend Golfers – The no Backswing Swing

The best golf swing tips all say the same thing in different ways: The key to good shot-making is to minimize unnecessary movement that causes a swing flaw and leads to a bad shot. It starts with simplifying the backswing.

How to swing – golf at its best must be simple. If you watch the pros like I do, and take in every golf magazine and instructional program on the Golf Channel, you will come away with one main golf swing tip: Keep It Simple, Superman (or Superwoman)! Ernie Els, the Big Easy himself is the premier example. He has a seemingly easy backswing, under total control, that he unleashes into one of the most powerful swings on the PGA Tour. He doesn’t swing hard.

On the other hand, take a look at the ‘grip and rip it’ violence of John Daly’s swing. Big John is famous for his prodigious drives, starting with a backswing that goes so far back past horizontal that weekend golfers have done major damage to their lower backs mimicking it.

Big John has the athletic talent and experience to play winning golf at the highest level, in spite of such a violent swing. Big Easy does, too, in spite of his easy, controlled swing. The example for me to imitate is obviously the easy swing. Swinging too hard almost never works.

Top Golf Swing Tip for Control and Accuracy

This is where one of the most useful tips I have ever discovered for my own game applies. Since most of the mistakes in a swing come during the backswing (I have heard 70%), that is where to concentrate on simplifying. Here is what I discovered.

First, I had the opportunity to get lessons that included taking a video of my swing. (Then the instructor put it side by side with Tiger’s swing, which is a brutal comparison for any weekend golfer!) When the instructor asked me to take my backswing to horizontal, I did so. However, the video showed me going way past that. When he asked me to take it straight up – i.e., not past vertical – it came closer to being horizontal.

The point is that I am not the only one to not realize how far back my backswing goes. This is a common self-misperception. Going back too far is a problem because the farther I take it back, the more movement I put into it. Not a good formula for good golf. The question is, how short can I make my backswing to eliminate as many mistakes as possible, without sacrificing distance?

The No Backswing Swing

Okay, there is no such thing as ‘no’ backswing. It so, it would consist of addressing the ball and then pushing it forward. The ‘no’ backswing is really just a highly abbreviated backswing. If full means 100%, then ‘no’ means more like 25%. The position of the shaft goes to vertical, that’s all.

Nevertheless, the power that you can generate with only a 25% backswing is surprising. And the control of the swing is tremendous. There is almost no chance for that little waggle at the top, or any other ineffective movement of the club – after all, there is no top to this backswing.

I got pretty excited about this when I saw the video. My first swing was at a local golf course in Phoenix on June 21. I sliced it my first shot. I got the hang of it after a couple more hits. I recommend working out the kinks on the driving range, not like I did in a live round.

In spite of my early glitches, I hit my drives as far as ever and consistently straighter than I have in years. In fact, I didn’t chicken out like I usually do and pull out my fairway metals on the tee box for the final few holes, just to avoid my driver-only slice. Nope, I used my driver all the way to the end, and I was very pleased with the results. The no backswing golf swing worked for me, and I suspect it will work for a lot of other weekend golfers as well.

Be sure watch the video first, so you have a clear visual of what I’ve described in this article, though.

Dr. Dennis Clark, professional scientist and amateur golfer, has been playing and enjoying golf for more than 40 years. He has discovered that golf swing tips are sometimes valuable and sometimes not. No surprise there. His key to good shot-making is to keep thing simple and minimize movement that causes swing flaws and leads to bad shots. Have some fun and see what he has to say by and for the Everyday Golfer.

Mastering a Proper Golf Swing

Most golf pros think that there is no perfect gold swing. Depending on an individual’s physical features, muscle structure, height and weight, different clubs can be ideal for swinging to get the best result. However, there is something called as proper golf swing.

Among all differences that you will see amongst golfers on television or elsewhere, there is a common thread that runs through all their techniques. They have mastered the basics like their golf grip, aim and their setup. They are able to reproduce a perfect swing every time. This is essential to a proper golf swing.

There are three basic parts to the swing: the backswing, the downswing, and the finish. These must be integrated into a smooth, continuous motion that is neither too fast nor too slow, and creates a rhythm that can be replicated over and over, countless times.

You should control your backswing with your hands, not your arms. Do not pick up the club with your hands. Instead, bring it back with both your hands and arms in a single motion. Allow your hips and shoulders to twist naturally as you move through the backswing. You should be comfortable, and not working too hard. Your hands should begin to set at waist level and be completely set at the top of your swing. Avoid overswinging.

When working to obtain a consistent swing, your objective is to be patient in the execution of your backswing. A solid backswing is the foundation of your downswing and sets you up to achieve the maximum controllable head speed for your downswing. Upon the transition from the backswing to the downswing, your goal is to keep your body synchronized, which can be achieved by visualizing yourself pulling with your left arm.

Unless you manage to finish well, you won’t succeed in achieving a proper golf swing, even if you have already mastered a good backswing and downswing. Finish high at the end, after keeping the face of the club square for a couple of inches following the striking of the ball. This high finish is critical – you’ll get less air should your finish be too low. At the end of the swing, you should transfer your weight back in order to remain balanced.

Now that you understand the basic components of the game, you need to get out there and practice. Quality equipment is a must-have. If you have poorly balanced clubs or ones that are too stiff or springy, you’ll have a tough time playing consistently. A good brand for quality is Callaway golf clubs. With skill and the right equipment, you’ll be at the top of your game in no time.

A Black Hole in Golf Putting

An article for golf players where the author writes about Golf Putting and the specifics of breaking putts. It’s also analyzed why this subject, till recently, has never been deeply studied.

No, I’m not referring to that hole on the green where the pin rests waiting to be removed to let the golf ball go in. Instead, I’m talking about Black Holes, those regions of cosmic space with a gravitational field so intense that not even light can escape from it. That is, we don’t know anything about what’s inside.

In golf putting there’s also a kind of Black Hole for the great majority of players. Inside, is carefully kept the background needed to confidently face breaking putts. As a consequence, millions of golf players feel like zombies, lost in the middle of sloping greens, having their eyes blindfolded.

Too much drama? I won’t dispute that. I just want to emphasize that there are lots of easy putts missed everyday, everywhere, by golfers that never had the chance to learn how to deal with this subject of breaking putts. And it can be taught and made easy to use for common players of all levels.

Remember your first attempts with breaking putts. Perhaps you are a self made putter that found your way by trial and error; or maybe you went to the golf course with some kind of golf guru that, for every breaking putt, told you to aim x inches, or y feet, or z yards above the hole. And, regardless of the outcome, you were astonished and wondering where did those magic distances come from and desiring to get the talent to decide it on your own. But you found it impossible to find anything written specifically about it or a serious way to be taught about that.

This is a very important subject because breaking putts are something every golfer has to face several times during a round of golf and, no matter how good his putting technique is, success won’t come unless he chooses a good line. This fact is related with another one. When a golf player has a breaking putt to do he must aim some point that isn’t the cup’s center and if he or she doesn’t know what kind of ball track the ball will follow all happens as if he, or she, is putting blindfolded. Even for non-golfers it’s easy to feel the drama. And if we consider that during a round of golf almost half of total strokes are putts and more than half of them can be breaking putts, the drama turns to tragedy.

The reason that made this problem remain for so long without some light being shed on it, is the fact that some basic concepts of physics and geometry are needed to deal with it. And those 2 words are scary and intimidate common people, even before you enter the subject. This means we are facing a kind of vicious circle: the problem is important and needs to be addressed, the solution is based on some basic concepts that scare people, no one dares, so, the problem remains unsolved.

The first serious attempt I know to break this stalemate is an ebook called Golf Putting Lines that is now selling online. As far as I know, there are no other books, articles, videos, whatever, thoroughly treating this subject. It assumes that correctly identifying lines is a matter that requires some background in physics and geometry that the great majority of golf players don’t have, or don’t remember, or don’t even want to hear about for its reputation of being difficult and inappropriate for a golfing environment. As a consequence, objective number one was to make it simple at any cost. I believe it is and I also believe it’s accessible for anyone with a normal background.

This is what is inside:

-Insights about ball tracks. The concept; the different kinds.

-Break definition and the right point where it must be measured.

-Introduction to the concepts of “aim point” and “break point”.

-Explanations about break and clues to evaluate how much a putt will break.

-Analysis of the different factors that affect ball trajectory.

-Suggestions of some drills and experiments that will help golfers to become more sensitive to the several green factors that influence putting lines and, as a consequence, make them more confident with those putts that used to make people sweat

even in cold winter days.

For those interested in a deeper insight, it´s also revealed why and how things happen and no more than that. This is a separate chapter everybody can skip without major consequences.

There is also room for surprise, for instance, when it’s explained why putts in the range 1 to 4 yards (roughly) are more reliable if there is a clear break to consider than if they look flat and level.

Interesting, as well, is the fact that the ebook is as succinct as possible because the author believes readers are looking for solutions, not for literature.

The result is an ebook that tries to fill the gap between the solutions every golfer needs to become a better player and the theory behind those solutions, something no one is remotely interested in. In other words, it is a successful attempt to provide some gain without pain.

A Guide To Buying Discount Golf Shoes Online

You will learn the benefits of shopping for golf shoes at online golf stores. Look for discount golf shoes online or cheap golf shoes for under $100.

Online shopping is getting more and more popular for finding the best deals. Golf shoes are no exception and golfers are looking for discount golf shoes online as a way to save money. It seams with the $400 price tag of golf drivers and even the latest technologically advanced golf balls selling for $45 the dozen, golfers are not willing to spend much on their golf shoes.

Golfers that are looking for cheap golf shoes are definitely not looking for poor quality ones – they know that the best golf shoes of yesterday are the clearance golf shoes of today. Golf shoes are constantly changing, whether it be new designs or materials, so that the manufacturers can offer their discount golf shoes at prices less than half the price.

If you know the precise size of golf shoe that you need then buying them online makes sense. As golf shoes have to be really comfortable, many come in different widths from narrow through extra wide golf shoes. Even these harder to find widths are offered as discount golf shoes; with prices under $100 you can find small sizes like 4 1/2 all the way up to large size 16 golf shoes, as well as all the different width options.

When looking for cheap golf shoes you don’t have to consider only unknown golf shoe brands. There are dozens of top brand name golf shoes that are priced at under $100, for example: Adidas Tour 360 II, Nike SP-7 TW Tour, Footjoy Dryjoys PODS, Puma Concorde GTX, Etonic G-SOK XCR Spikeless golf shoes, and ECCO Classic Crossfire Saddle golf shoes. Other top brands that you can also find for under $100 include Hi-Tec, Bite, and Callaway golf shoes.

You are not limited to only choosing boring styles when shopping for cheap golf shoes. You will find softspike golf shoes, spikeless golf shoes, casual and classic golf shoes, golf sandals, as well as all the womens golf shoes available. All these golf shoes can be found with some sort of discount, whether it is clearance, on sale, or closeout prices.

If you like Footjoy golf shoes, then you have another option for buying cheap golf shoes – Footjoy blems. A blem shoe is typically one that has a very minor blemish from the factory. Footjoy blems also consist of retail store returns and factory overruns. These blemishes do not affect the performance or the warranty of the shoe, in fact they are brand new shoes in their box.

Buying Footjoy blems is the way to go if you want the latest Footjoy golf shoes at the best possible price. All the latest Footjoys can be found, like Reelfit, Classics Tour, Dryjoys, Contour, GF II, and womens Footjoy blems – with savings of up to 50%. If you want the latest Footjoy Classics Tour shoe but don’t like the $320 price, then check out the blems at only $159.

Buying golf shoes online is a fantastic way to save money and also you will have more choice. As it is easy to shop around on the Internet, you will be able to find your favorite golf shoes with discounts of 60% or more. Some stores stock some discontinued styles that they sell with a final clearance tag, often at cost or below. When you buy discount golf shoes, with what you save, you will be able to buy a couple of dozen Callaway Tour ix or Titleist Pro V1x golf balls.

Before buying golf shoes on the internet, make sure you visit Mick Euan Tait’s website where you can find more information on the Best Golf Shoes.

History of Masters Golf Tournament

The Masters Golf Tournament is one of the most famous golf tournaments held in United States. Though the tournament itself is not very old, it has a very eventful history that has played an important role in shaping many golf legends. To find out more about the Master’s tournament, read on.

<img src="http://www.buzzle.com/img/articleImages/278482-2319-3.jpg" alt="History of Masters Golf Tournament" width="235" height="350"alt="History/>

The Masters Golf Tournament was initially named, ‘Augusta National Invitation’. The story of Augusta National Invitation dates back to the year 1931. Golf legend Bobby Jones wanted to construct his own golf course which he could use after retirement. He started searching for a suitable piece of land with the help of Clifford Roberts, who was an investment specialist and golfer. A huge piece of land in Augusta, Georgia, which used to be an indigo plantation was purchased for the purpose.

The land had to be developed, designed and modeled to suit a golf course. Hence in 1931, Jones hired Alister MacKenzie to model and develop the land. The most interesting twist in MacKenzie’s career was that, he actually qualified as a surgeon, from Scotland. The construction was completed in 1933 and was formally opened. Sadly MacKenzie did not live to see the first masters tournament, that was conducted on the most famous golf course that he designed.

In the initial years the masters tournament was named as the ‘Augusta National Invitation’ after the golf course. The first tournament of the invitation was was held on 22nd March 1934. The first tournament’s champion was Horton Smith. In 1939, the name of Augusta National Invitation was changed to Masters Golf Tournament. The maiden tournament of the Master’s was played with current holes 10 through 18, which served as the first nine. The later one through nine served as the second nine. This arrangement was reversed and the present day layout was formed. The members of the club debated whether Jones should be permitted to participate in the tournament or not. The decision to let Jones compete, resulted in establishment of many of his legendary hits.

Since 1940, the tournament has been held in first week of April. And has been held very consistently since then. The only time that saw a break in the streak of the tournament was during the Second World War. Livestock was reared on the course to aid the war.

In the course of its history, the Augusta golf course has undergone structural changes, that has changed the method of play. In 2001, the length of the course was 6,925 yards if measured from the famous masters trees. In 2002 the length was increased to 7,270 yards and in 2006 it was again increased to 7,445 yards. Many noted players commented on the modification and expansions of the course. Golfing legend Tiger Woods, passed one of his most famous comments on the change by saying “shorter hitters are going to struggle”.

The grass that occupied the golf course has also undergone modifications. Initially the grass was classified as the wide blade Bermuda. After the 1970’s, the wide-bladed Bermuda was replaced with the narrow bladed Bermuda. The Bermuda grass unfortunately did not ideally suit the golf course. The Bermuda in par-3 was hence replaced by bent grass. The bent grass ideally suited the course and hence all the grass on the course was replaced with bent grass. The first tournament that was played on the new surface was 1981 tournament.

The Masters tournament has been the battle ground of the most skilled golf players. The tournament has seen many noteworthy and legendary records being established. In 1997, Tiger Woods became the youngest player, to win the tournament, he was only 21 years old. In the 1997 championship he also broke some very significant records. The oldest player to win the championship was Jack Nicklaus, in 1986, as he was 46 years old at the time of his victory. Several other golfing records have been established in the Masters and several others are yet to be broken, and new ones to be established, as the tournament enters yet another era of modernization.

How to Hit a Golf Ball

There are various methods of hitting a golf ball depending upon the lie of the ball, the distance to be achieved, and whether you are in the process of getting onto the green or putting the ball into the hole. In the game of golf, mastery is only achieved with practice. Allow these golf tips to be your starting point…

The game of golf is said to have originated sometime in the 11th century in Scotland. Ever since its creation, the game has become a passion with millions, both young and old. The game to a non-golfer appears to be simple, because unlike other games such as tennis, football, hockey, and their like, where you are required to hit a moving ball in a hurry, in golf, you have all the time in the world to hit a stationary ball. While time is not of the essence, this difficult game does require a great degree of skill. Just hitting a golf ball is easy, but hitting it to land on the spot you intend it to, is difficult.

In golf, the aim of a golfer is to put the golf ball in the hole within the least number of strokes (hits). A standard-sized golf course comprises 18 holes. The hole is on a well-manicured round or oval lawn called a green. The green is preceded by a fairway, and the starting point is called a tee. The fairway can have obstacles such as sand pits called bunkers, a tree or a water obstacle in the form of a pond over which the golfer has to hit the ball to reach the green. On either side of each fairway one can find hazards such as thick grass, bushes and trees.

A golf bag can contain up to 14 golf clubs, and the club to be used is selected by the golfer depending upon a number of factors such as the distance to be achieved, how the ball is lying, is it in the clear or otherwise, and the obstacles to be cleared en route to the green. Once the ball reaches the green the golfer would use a club called the ‘Putter’ to tap the ball into the hole.

A game of golf commences from a starting point called a tee. The place is called a tee because at the start the ball is generally placed on a small ‘T’ shaped wooden or plastic mount before it is hit. While hitting a ball from the tee, the most crucial factor is the distance one would like the ball to travel. The intention would be to get the ball into the hole in one hit alone, but this is generally not possible because the distance to the hole can be anything from about 150 to over 500 yards.

Here are a few basic steps to be followed while hitting the ball from the tee:

Select the club you wish to use. The selection will depend upon the distance to the hole vis a vis the distance you desire. In case the distance is short (up to say 200 yards), one would generally use a club called an ‘Iron’. If the distance is more, then the golfer would select a ‘Wood’.

Place the ball on the tee. The selection of the height of the tee will depend upon the type of club being used. Bigger the club, higher the tee.

Grip your club in your right hand, stretch your hand and place your club head on the ground behind the ball pointing in the direction you want the ball to go.

Adjust your stance viz the distance your feet should be from the ball, so that the direction you want to hit and the club shaft held by you are at right angles to each other.

Open your feet in such a manner that they are the same distance apart as the distance between your shoulders. At the same time, ensure that the line joining your feet and the direction in which you want to hit the ball are parallel to each other.

Now grip the club with both hands, bend your knees a bit, turn your head a few degrees to the right, and keep your left eye on the ball.

Commence your back swing. A slow back swing helps maintain direction. Take the club head to the top of a swing you are comfortable with.

Swing the club head fast in its downward trajectory, hit the ball and follow through with your club.

The above 8 steps are only an elementary guide, and there is a lot more to the art of hitting a golf ball. Like most sports, golf cannot be learned by simply reading guide lines, it involves many days of practice on the golf course under proper guidance.

For centuries golf has been played with great passion, and it has brought love, elation, joy and unbelievable frustration all at the same time. It is an excellent game which provides recreation suitable to all ages.

Ace – High 5 Golf Geniuses in the World

To introduce the readers about the best 5 golf players.

Golfing is a sport favored by large numbers of people for more than 10 centuries and wholesale golf clubs are really popular in different areas of the world. There have been countless palmary golfers in golfing; those who have gotten over large numbers of hold backs and those who had to prove their importance in the sport of golfing to the world. In my eyes, these are the ace-high five stars in my opinion:

My first pick, and overall the first-rank golf star, is the United States players in professional golf Jack Nicklaus. Nicklaus was born on January 21, 1940 in Ohio. After turning professional in 1961, he possessed over 114 professional golf triumphs in his career. Nicklaus has actualized all 4 extensive golf tournaments three times each during his lifetime. Although his components weren’t as seasoned as Tiger Wood’s, he’s still the top golf giant in my eyes.

My second choice is Eldrick Tont Woods, more commonly known as Tiger Woods. Woods is beyond any doubt a outstanding players in professional golf. His image is really loved for company’s of wholesale golf clubs or golf club wholesalers. He would be number 1 on my poll but he still has some time in his lifetime left to end. I think that in due time Woods will be the ace-high professional player, but for now, he’s 2nd. Woods is an United States players in professional golf that was born on December 30, 1975 in California. He became a professional golf athlete in 1996 and since then has over 91 wins. Woods, today, is the topmost paid player.

Third on my poll is Ben Hogan. Ben was an American golfers born on August 13, 1912 in the state of Texas. Hogan is one of the most well-beloved athletes in professional golf, and is most recognized for his prestige on the hypothesis of the golf swing and his ball-striking abilities. After becoming professional in 1930 and departing in 1971, Hogan mastered 64 wins in spite of large numbers of obstacles and a horrific accident.

My number 4 pick is Bobby Jones. Jones was born on March 17, 1902 in Georgia. He was by far one of the second to none athletes in professional golf both nationally and internationally. After retiring at age 28, Jones gotten nine professional triumphs. He is most recognized for his sportsmanship and impartial play. I definitely praise the ethics of this professional golf legend, particularly when he called a penalty on himself during the U.S. Open at the Worcester Country Club in 1925.

My number 5 choice for the 1st golf player is Gary Player, or the International Ambassador of Golf. Player was born November 1, 1935 in South Africa. He turned professional in 1953 and in his career gained one hundred and sixty-four professional wins.

Even though there were plentiful moving golf player to select from, I must conclude these have to be the first-class 5. They are all very impressive men that have more than proved themselves to the sport of professional golfing.

Callaway FTI – Probably the Best Golf Driver in the World

Find out why the Callaway FTI golf driver can give you an advantage over your competition out on the fairway

The Callaway FTI can be used to a great advantage if you finally want to beat your golfing partners out on the fairway.

So What makes the Callaway FTI so special?

Firstly the Callaway FTI is made from a carbon composite which is extremely light weight but also extremely strong. This weight advantage has been used in production and testing to overall enhance the Callaway FTI’s performance.

The Callaway FTI has been proven to hit balls further than any other driver on the market today which makes this driver your new best friend.

Callaway FTI includes a titanium cup face which helps the user increase golf ball speed from contact shots from the face of head. To no surprise the Callaway FTI has been banned in use by professional golfers throughout the world at various golfing tournaments as using this driver gives the pro an unfair advantage against their competition.

Callaway featured heavily in the PGA tours in 1995 and Callaway golf drivers were No.1 in the tournament. This shot Callaway to become the largest manufacturer of golf clubs outselling its nearest rivals with 2003 became number one in the golf club market.

The Callaway FTI is a massive leap in golf club technology and redesign favoring any golfer. With the Callaway FTI promotions launched, record levels of pre orders were placed before the official launch date.

The Callaway FTI has been redesigned using a different shaped, square driver head which proven in testing to be a breakthrough in golf club performance. This Callaway FTI is weighted differently from all other clubs which distributes the weight to the outside edges of the head which helps prevent the club head to twist during shots. Any golfer will know that this is extremely important to prevent this if possible so the ball can be hit cleanly and on target.

As a golfing enthusiast, I decided to make a new website designed purely around the amazing Callaway FTI driver, if you would like to read more about the Callaway FTI, please visit the site here: Callaway FTI

Types of Golf Wedges

Golf wedges play an important role in the game of golf and can add impressive results to your score. There are mainly four different types of wedges that exist in the game. To know more about them, read on.

Golf wedges are used for approach shots and are designed with modified soles, to help with shots through the rough or sand. Also known as scoring clubs, golf wedges have the greatest loft which enables them to produce spin. Spin and loft allow the ball to rest gently on the ground, hence helping the golfer to attack the flagstick without any obstacles. These wedges comes in different types and can be either soft forged carbon steel wedges or clubs finished in chrome or a soft nickel coating or firmer cast stainless steel wedges.

The shape of the grooves, in most of the wedges, shouldn’t be given much consideration as the ball makes contact with only the front 4 or 5 thousandths of the top of the groove which is 20000 to 25000 of an inch deep. The remaining part of the groove works as a medium to remove different variables like dirt, grass, water, etc that come in the way during the shot. So whether they are ‘U’ or ‘V’ shaped, it actually doesn’t matter.

One of the important thing that should be considered while buying a golf wedge is a uniform conversion form of the grooves to the flat face of the wedge, i.e. there should be a sharp edge on each groove to generate spin on the ball. The grooves over the past number of years have improved a lot, as earlier they were cast from molds into the club face, but now the manufacturers have started to machine cut them.

Types of Golf Wedges

The four types of golf wedges are as follows:

Pitching Wedges

The pitching wedge is an extension of the 9-iron in design and is included in the standard set of golf clubs (3 iron – PW). It has a loft somewhere between 45 and 50 degrees, and increased swing weight and bounce angle in the sole. It is mainly used for sand shots, longer approach shots, chip shots and longer bunker shots. It is the only wedge that many amateurs or beginners use, for one good reason that it comes with the set.

Gap Wedges

The gap wedges are used to bridge the gap between the pitching wedge and sand wedge. In place of striking a hard sand wedge (approx 80-90 yards) or a soft pitching wedge (approx 110-125 yards), which are difficult to do consistently, you can have a full swing that can be easily strike with a gap wedge. These wedge don’t come with the set of irons, hence you have to purchase them separately.

Sand Wedges

Sand wedges have a loft of somewhere between 53 and 58 degrees. They help break away from the sand traps and other hazards on the course. They have a pretty high level of loft which helps launch the ball with a high trajectory towards the target. The golf sand wedges have a shorter shaft than the other clubs. Due to this, players usually swing at the ball with an extra upright swing and aggressive or descending blow.

Lob Wedges

Lob wedges are highly beneficial in situations with obstacles between the golfer and the green. These wedges are best known for their flop shots and can have a loft increased up to 64 degrees. These high lofted lob wedges are reserved for scratch golfers or highly skilled golfers. These wedges strike the ball extremely high in the air with an attempt to drop the ball softly on the green with little or no roll.

Golf wedges come in a variety of finishes which are used to reduce any glare from the sun. Some players believe that rusted wedges can provide extra spin, hence producing more grip. Each wedge varies in loft and satisfies a specific role. Irrespective of the type of wedge you select, each wedge should fit into the set you choose to play i.e. the length, bounce, swing-weight and shaft flex have to be considered.

Check Out the Top 4 Options for Cheap Golf Clubs

If you are in the market for buying a set of golf clubs then check out the top 4 options. If you have only considered buying golf clubs at your local golf store, then this guide will explain the different options for buying discount golf clubs online.

In this article, I am going to discuss the top 4 options for buying cheap golf clubs so that you can save some money on golfs biggest investment. Maybe you have considered eBay for cheap golf clubs but I personally prefer the options below to secure the best golf clubs at the best price and condition.

Maybe you are a seasoned pro at buying from eBay, so you could check them out, but I have prepared a resume of the top 7 golf equipment online stores that have good golf club discount rates everyday. It is normal that online golf stores can proffer great golf clubs discount rates compared to off-line stores, but first you have to decide on which types of golf clubs are for you; below are my top 4 cheap golf clubs options.

Top Brand Name Golf Clubs

The first option is buying brand new clubs from the top brand name golf club manufacturers, like Callaway, TaylorMade, Nike, or Ping. Now, these won’t be the cheapest golf clubs that you will find, but if you have made up your mind to buy top brand name clubs then you should get the best deal you can find.

Now, the latest golf clubs from these manufacturers are normally very expensive, but you can get a fantastic golf clubs discount if you are willing to buy last season’s models. For example, if you want to buy the new Nike SQ Sumo Squared 5900 driver, it will cost you over $400. On the other hand, if you go for the Nike SQ Sumo Squared 460 driver which was a hit last year, you will only pay $200 or even less. At online golf stores like ScoreLow and TGW, you can find these golf clubs for sale and sometimes at closeout prices.

Second Tier Brand Name Golf Clubs

The second option is to go for second tier brand name golf clubs. The line between what is considered top brand name and second tier golf club manufacturers is becoming more blurred nowadays. For the sake of argument, the following clubs would be categorized as second tier: Adams Golf, Maxfli, Bridgestone, Mizuno, Tour Edge, Nickent, Hippo, and G.R.I.P. These are all quite cheap golf clubs but of a good quality and can be found at TGW or InTheHole.

G.R.I.P. (Golf Research In Play)

The golf club manufacturer, G.R.I.P., is one that you may not have heard about but they are worth a closer look. To say these are cheap golf clubs is an understatement when you see all the innovative design features, playability, and custom fitting options that you are getting. I have to admit that these are my favorite clubs due to their dedication to design clubs specifically for the recreational or beginner golfer. They have all the specifications that make them easier to play with, more forgiving of mistakes, and lastly they bring the fun into golf that is missing for many struggling with their game. These clubs can only be found at G.R.I.P.’s official website.

Preowned Golf Clubs

Option number three is to buy preowned golf clubs, but not from eBay! There are a couple of online golf stores that specialize in preowned golf clubs that come with a 100% guarantee and warranty – GlobalGolf and 3Balls. Their clubs are cleaned, inspected, graded and rated; sometimes you will get a new grip and club headcover too.

Cheap Golf Club Clones

Option number four that is worth considering is cheap golf club clones. There is one golf club clone manufacturer that stands out from the rest; Pinemeadow Golf. The have extremely high quality custom made golf clubs that measure up to the features and performance of the best clubs but at fraction of the price. A few of the brand names that they emulate are TaylorMade, Callaway, Cleveland, Ping, and Odyssey putters.

So there you have my top 4 options for cheap golf clubs. Whichever option you choose to go with, you will be getting the best golf clubs discount rate. You can go for top brand name golf clubs for sale or at closeout prices, second tier cheap golf clubs, great value preowned golf clubs, or high quality yet cheap golf club clones.
