Some Golf Putting Instructions
How often have you been frustratingly close to making a putt just to come up short?
Or maybe you have only just missed the pin to see your golf ball go crusing past having a rediculous amount of distance for your next putt.
Loads of games are actually lost on the golf putting green and more often than not it is often because of the incorrect length, as opposed to the path of the ball.
A large number of newbies swiftly obtain a feel for the path the golf ball will probably travel, even on sloping greens.
You have probably witnessed it personally when a newcomer to the game strikes the golf ball within just inches from the hole on a sloping green time and time again.
What we won’t observe quite so often is the ball stopping several inches past the hole after they miss.
There’s lots of things which come into consideration when identifying the distance a golf ball may travel on the green, from the slope, to the preparation of the green in addition to whether or not this is wet and slow or dry and fast.
I know it can make a big difference with respect to the time of the day with greens getting quicker as they dry off from the afternoon sunshine.
So reading the distance of your putt is what you should focus on to get your golf ball to drop in that hole.
Again all this comes back again to practice and there is no more effective practice than on the day for the tournament in the conditions that you’ll be playing in.
Be sure you take a moment to get several practice putts before you start play to ‘dial in’ your length.
Another thing you have to always remember; the golf ball will never drop if it does not reach the hole.
Sounds very obvious to even need mentioning doesn’t it, but more often than not putts will come up short.
At all times shoot for the back of the cup so that, provided you have got your path right, you are going to have a possibility of sinking the putt.
